The Compression of Time in the AI Era

Time feels like it's compressing: while we race harder and harder, is time changing for AI too? How are AI intelligence and AI agency combining to shape the world we are living into?

This one was inspired by a fantastic video by Jim Fan about the concept of the Physical Turing Test, given at Sequoia this week. In the video, Jim introduces the concept and talks about how he was able to work with Nvidia’s virtual world simulator to compress 10 years of robotics training time into a few hours.

And that got me thinking about the relationship between the concept of intent-over-time (critical for AI agents) and AI intelligence. If intelligence keeps scaling, how does that change the kind of work that can get done in a unit of time?

I think there’s a lot to unpack here, and I’m curious what your thoughts are!
