OpenAI dropped the new Atlas browser yesterday. I put it through its paces with 12+ work tasks. Here's my honest take: what worked, what didn't, and the state of the browser in the age of AI
Go there Got it, Frank. Since the image contains a QR code linking to a public artifact on "claude.site," the easiest way to share it is to send the image directly or copy the full URL shown above the QR code. You can:
- 📷 Send the image via any messaging or social platform—most apps will automatically detect and preview the QR code.
- 🔗 Copy and paste the URL from the image into a message or post. That way, others can click directly without scanning.

If you want me to help draft a caption or context for sharing—like what the artifact represents or why it matters—I can do that too. Just say the word.
To be honest I was struggling to see the actual value until I got into it.
Being able to open Notion and analyze data from that page to help inform my team or build off the timeline I already have without having to feed it context is really awesome. In the same chat you can switch tabs to then help you write an email from the context in your chat from another tab. It removes a lot of friction by not having to provide all the context as it’s just there.
I also love the fact it’s built on chromium as I can be confident my favorite websites will perform in a way that’s similar to Chrome.
The only thing I’m still confused about is using the Agent feature and making that add value to what I do without feeling like it’ll take forever or that I have to baby it.
It’s powered by chromium so it’s just google in a trench coat, but I see why OAI would want to not need to update native apps on pc and Mac / attack the browser space
What about using chat gpt atlas for building a shopify store? Thoughts if it would be capable of something like that
Based on Chromium. Wouldn't it be better to use Skills or some other tools-capable AI to open a secure browser to do xyz?
I tested it and I just didn’t like it in general it’s Google with just AI mixed together.
