OpenAI launched a social network today, powered by their Sora 2 video model. They're touting it as the ethical, positive, pro-social network for you and your friends—but what's the real story?
I’m extremely disappointed with Sora 2. The quality is extremely low, videos have watermarks that make them unusable in creative projects and the cameo feature is really bad. It looks like characters straight out of a low budget Tubi movie.
Sora 2 reveals OpenAI's strategic shift toward social networking and monetization, positioning AI-powered creativity as a solution to combat low-quality AI content concerns. Build beyond social media at https://sora2code.com – enterprise-grade tutorials for serious developers!
I don't see how they resist the temptation to dump ads everywhere. Check the numbers Ed Zitron has put together; they may not have a choice. The other thing a billion users buys you? An eventual IPO, multi-trillion cap, and TBTC status - Too Big to Care.
Great analysis of the move and product by OpenAI. I am afraid that this does not signal good things on where they are going. I doubt they will be able to keep it safe and healthy.
It makes me question their credibility when the platform is filled with ads. Besides, there are more advanced tools and platforms available for creating realistic, high-end video content, so why choose Sora?
Once again, I keep saying it, have been since 12/22 - "It isn't Ai in your app, it's your app in Ai." no more SaaS, no more SalesForce, LinkedIn, Word, Email...Aldus Pagemaker(?)
How can anyone be certain that it will be used in a fun, friendly, positive way? Once humans get their hands on anything, they begin by interjecting snark (which is funny) but then it migrates into just plain mean.
we couldn't achieve AGI so heres you AI slop factory instead

Thank you for this information.
How do we get the invite code? I'm a pro-user and I've been since the beginning. Just wasn't sure if I missed anything.

I don’t see it in the App Store
People trust Google and they have loads of ads. I think there are ways to put it in chat that keep the results trustworthy.
